The OnOffs - This Town (video)

video

The OnOffs - This Town

Danny Connors - vocals/guitar
Andy Crofts - Vocals/Bass
Chris Ketley - Keyboard/Guitar/vocals
Luke Goddard - Drums/Vocals

I have finally got around to uploading this the first real video of The OnOffs debut single "This Town".

For those of you that don't know, The OnOffs were probably the UK's last real Modernist/Power Pop band.

Formed in 2005 by Danny Connors and Andy Crofts in Northampton UK and joined by Luke Goddard on drums.
They had a couple of singles on major Indie labels here in the UK and and supported everybody including a live set with Paul Weller on a UK TV show. The proper official video for the bands second single "Wrong Upstairs" was produced by Bernard Butler.Chris Ketley then joined the band to make it an absolute powerhouse 4 piece.

Although the band only had a bright but brief amount of time together the live set was probably better than anything seen during that short time.

Andy crofts has now started writing and performing his own material under the name of The Moons. We can expect to see more of this new outfit in the future.
Danny Conners has gone back to being a solo artist with some striking new material, check out his MySpace page.
Luke Goddard is still hiding behind his drumkit somewhere, infact I wouldnt be suprised to see him on the dark side of The Moons ;0)
Chris Ketley continues to perform with The Rakes.

This video was shot in 1995 in Andy Crofts living room at the time with the following credits:

Director/Producer/Cameraman/Editor - Rob Carter
Make-Up - Kass Jones
Lighting - Rob Glover
Refreshments - Claire Wareham

Les Fleur De Lys - Reflections

Les Fleur De Lys - Reflections

Les Fleur de Lys were a British band originally formed in Autumn 1964, in Southampton, Hampshire, England. Known for their varied line-ups, only drummer Keith Guster was a member throughout their history. They recorded singles beginning in 1965 in the mod-psychedelic music genre, later known as freakbeat. They finally disbanded in 1969. Keyboardist Pete Sears went on to play with Jefferson Starship.
They were managed by Atlantic Records' Frank Fenter, who had also discovered Sharon Tandy, the first white artist to record for Stax Records. Together, they produced a string of near-chart hits which later became collectable discs. Les Fleur de Lys also recorded "Reflections of Charles Brown" under the name "Rupert's People"; this single, heavily reminiscent of Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale", also failed to chart despite receiving airplay and is now also a collectable item.[1]
Jimmy Page produced their first two releases, and they are credited on Hip Young Guitar Slinger and other reissues of 1960s British rock.
